Ten days ago I started a Facebook countdown and the day is now staring me in the face. It is nearly 6 am and I’ve been awake for two hours with a racing mind wondering if I’m really ready to turn loose my personal experience with DCIS, share my thought with ‘the world’ and make this a two way conversation instead of a project residing on my laptop. I’ve got a personal webinar scheduled for 8:30 am this morning with Brian Basillico, b2b marketing, to get my new twitter account, @DCISmystory, Facebook page, DCISmystory, and website all connected, install Google analytics and help me promote this project via social media. I’ll write some letters to the editors and treat my personal experience repository, now a web site, like many of the projects or events I’ve promoted the past twenty years. Launching a personal marketing strategy that is indeed, very personal, feels different. My stomach is turning (or is that hunger pangs?), my heart racing (probably the caffeine hangover from celebrating yesterday’s ‘National Coffee Day’), and my mind churning on all cylinders.
If you’ve read my blog entry, “Timeline,” this thought will resonate better. My personal timeline artifact for 2011 is this link DCISmystory.com. I hope and pray the words I’ve written for others is just the start of a movement for us all to help one another through the collective sharing of knowledge.
As Buzz Lightyear would say, “To infinity and beyond.”
